Urban Study and Design
This project is inspired by the discussion of the concept of Habermas’s public sphere during the city theory class at the University of California, Berkeley. It aims at exploring the reason that the public sphere has never been constructed in reality and usesBerkeley’s People’s park as an example. Rather than designing an actual architectural project, this project proposes a social experiment to reflect on public sphere formation failure in People’s Park, Berkeley: It envisions ten subjects living together in a house.
